Perak Education Department vows fair handling of Chemor teacher bullying complaint, welfare prioritised

IPOH, Aug 8 — The Perak Education Department has pledged to handle the bullying complaint against a teacher in Chemor fairly, with the welfare of all parties involved being of utmost importance. Committee chairman Datuk Khairudin Abu Hanipah emphasized the need for a conciliatory approach, urging both the school administration and the teacher to work together in resolving the matter without placing blame on either side.

The investigation, completed and reported in the Public Complaints Management System, has been shared with the chairman. Khairudin refrained from blaming either party, stressing that both the school administration and the teacher have their own arguments and evidence, and that actions should adhere to the Ministry of Education's processes and procedures.

He also noted that the teacher's claim of suffering seizures requires confirmation by the medical officer handling the case. Perak Education director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar confirmed that the department received the viral complaint on social media and is committed to handling complaints professionally and transparently while safeguarding teachers' welfare.

The Perak JPN, along with the District Education Office, has been actively engaged in follow-up actions since March 2026, including engagement sessions and coordination with relevant parties to ensure fair handling of complaints in the best interests of the education community.
