Leave no stone unturned in Tabung Haji probe, says Agong

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, has called for a thorough investigation into the royal commission of inquiry report on Tabung Haji (TH), according to information relayed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In a statement released by the Royal Press Office, the Agong emphasized that those found guilty should face consequences and that there should be no recurrence of such incidents.

Sultan Ibrahim received updates on the RCI's findings during a briefing from Anwar, which encompassed "current issues" concerning the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda). The Monetary Commission (MACC) has established a specialized task force for a comprehensive review of the TH report and has made several arrests to support its investigation efforts.

Additionally, Bukit Aman has initiated five investigations into commercial offenses uncovered in the RCI report. In response to recent cases of Malaysians, including a pilot, being apprehended abroad for drug smuggling, the Agong urged authorities to bolster security measures and scrutiny at all airports and international entry points.

He stressed the importance of enhanced cooperation between relevant agencies, as well as more robust enforcement and persistent surveillance, to prevent drug smuggling and other transnational criminal activities that could endanger public safety and peace.
