RCI Tabung Haji: ‘Siasat hingga ke lubang cacing’, titah Agong

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim has urged the Royal Malaysian Corruption Commission (RCI) Tabung Haji investigation to be conducted "down to the depths of a snakehole". The Sultan presented the report to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who also pledged that all responsible parties would face appropriate action, while ensuring history doesn't repeat itself.

In a statement broadcast by the Royal Press Office, Sultan Ibrahim emphasized that anyone found guilty must face consequences, but it's crucial such misconduct doesn't happen again. He stressed the need for a thorough and uncompromising investigation into the RCI report, stating that any party found culpable should not be compromised.

The Sultan's office revealed that the Royal Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) set up a special task force to examine the RCI report and gather evidence to support the investigation. Independently, Bukit Aman opened five separate inquiries into commercial malpractice allegations highlighted in the report. Separately, the safety of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's palace was stressed, with authorities pledging to enhance control and security measures across all airfields and national borders following a series of drug suspects being detained abroad, including a pilot.

The Sultan emphasized that safeguarding at national borders must always be fortified through stronger enforcement, constant monitoring, and close cooperation among all relevant agencies. He warned that such efforts are vital to curb smuggling activities and prevent trans-border criminal activities that could endanger public safety and security.
