The long-term consequences of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) among US soldiers following the war with Iran have gained prominence. Nearly 700 American military personnel were injured by drone and rocket attacks on bases in the Middle East and during other engagements. Most of them sustained traumatic brain injuries and returned to duty, according to military officials.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell described the majority of the injuries sustained within two weeks as "mild concussions." While most veterans recover within a few weeks, some continue to experience symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, and memory and concentration problems for months or even years. These symptoms are often referred to as "brain fog."

President Donald Trump took a cautious stance on a potential agreement with Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the crucial waterway is "open for now." He had previously suggested that an agreement could be announced within the week. Iran reported that a deal with Oman on passage is in its final stages and would depend on the US lifting its blockade of Iranian ports.

A US government official told the Associated Press that temporary arrangements for the passage through the Strait of Hormuz would not impose any permits or toll fees.
