Hospital Bandar Enstek mudahkan rawatan ratusan ribu penduduk

Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad toured the site of the new Bandar Enstek hospital on July 28, viewing plans and information. Located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, the hospital's construction is expected to significantly benefit hundreds of thousands of residents by providing faster access to emergency and specialized care while reducing wait times at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (HTJ) in Seremban.

Local residents have welcomed the government's efforts, expressing the need for better public health facilities, particularly for the elderly, chronic patients, and those who cannot afford private hospital treatment.

Muhammad Aqil Mohd Khalid, a 22-year-old student, believes the new hospital will benefit chronic patients who require ongoing care. He added that HTJ currently functions as the primary referral hospital in Negeri Sembilan, causing long wait times for some patients. "With the new hospital, I hope that waiting times and congestion will be reduced, making the patients' experience more manageable," he stated.

G Dharnes, a 25-year-old marketing executive, emphasized the importance of the hospital's location in Bandar Enstek for Nilai residents seeking urgent care. He also highlighted the significance of the new government hospital for those who cannot afford private care. "In case of emergencies like heart attacks or accidents, the distance to the hospital is crucial since delays can jeopardize life-saving opportunities," Dharnes explained.

"I believe the new hospital can alleviate congestion at HTJ as patients will have more options for receiving care."

Koo Oi Sen, a 50-year-old pharmacist, hopes the Bandar Enstek hospital will be equipped with various specialist services to prevent residents from traveling far for medical treatment. He also believes the new facility can address the growing demand for public health services. The health minister announced the construction of a specialist hospital at the 20.23-hectare site in the new Bandar Enstek, expected to commence operations in 2032.

The hospital will initially have 350 beds, which may be expanded to 500 beds in the future. The project is expected to benefit over 700,000 residents in Seremban, Nilai, Labu, Lenggeng, Seremban 2, Sendayan, and surrounding areas, helping to alleviate pressure on HTJ, which currently serves as the primary referral hospital for Negeri Sembilan.

The Bandar Enstek hospital was announced after the health ministry reconsidered plans for the construction of the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital 2 in Rasah, as Bandar Enstek was deemed more suitable to meet the needs of the rapidly growing northern corridor population.
