Eagles All-Pro offensive lineman Lane Johnson says his 14th season will ‘probably’ be his last

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson announced on Saturday that his 14th season may be his last. The 36-year-old Johnson, a first-round pick in 2013, has been a two-time Super Bowl champion with the team and a six-time Pro Bowl selection. Johnson partially missed four days of training camp this week for personal reasons before returning to practice on Friday.

Johnson has taken leaves of absence in the past for mental health issues, including anxiety and depression in 2021. His most recent leave, Johnson said, was due to family matters and shifting priorities beyond football. "I’m looking potentially this is probably going to be my last year," Johnson said. Despite his love for the game, Johnson believes his priorities are starting to merge with life outside football, though he still feels capable of being a premier tackle in the league.
