The Gunners had been attempting to sign Vinícius Jr from Real Madrid over the past month without success. The Brazilian opted to renew his contract with Real Madrid instead, leaving Arsenal in a tough spot. While their initial plan to secure Vinicius to bolster their attacking options was understandable, the lack of progress on the transfer has put them behind in the race for other wingers.

Consequently, Arsenal must now seek alternative options while falling far behind the competition. The Independent suggests that Arsenal might attempt to re-engage in talks for Bradley Barcola, but Liverpool's advanced negotiations with the player make it difficult for the Gunners to secure a foothold. With the winger market being weak, Liverpool is considering a €120 million sum for Barcola, who doesn't feature in Paris Saint-Germain's starting lineup.

Despite this, if Barcola is the best available, Liverpool will pursue the signing, hoping to capitalize on Arsenal's setback in the competition.
