Sydney Towle, a prominent social media influencer known for sharing her battle with a rare, aggressive form of cancer, has passed away at the age of 26. Her family disclosed her death on Thursday, explaining that she succumbed to complications arising from bile duct cancer that had metastasized to other parts of her body. In a poignant video message, Sydney's brother, Austin, alongside their mother, shared the news with their followers on TikTok.

Sydney, who had garnered over a million followers on TikTok and more than 200,000 on Instagram, had been documenting her cancer journey on social media for the past three years, showcasing both the hardships and the joys of her battle. She resided in New York City at the time of her passing. Sydney's family expressed their pride in her resilience and her commitment to raising awareness about rare cancers, emphasizing their intention to honor her legacy.

Following the news of her demise, hundreds of her followers took to her social media platforms to pay tribute to her and offer condolences to her family. Among the various messages, Alyssa Milano, an actress, and a follower, noted Sydney's unique presence, stating, "Sweet angel. Fly high." Other tributes praised Sydney's lively spirit and her impact on those who had followed her journey.

In May, Sydney posted videos from her hospital, detailing how her cancer had spread to her peritoneum, a protective membrane surrounding abdominal and pelvic organs. She vehemently opposed her oncologist's recommendation to end her treatment, instead opting to seek a different specialist. Despite her illness, Sydney maintained a positive outlook, often sharing glimpses of her life, including dancing videos, modeling in a swimsuit, and advocating for self-advocacy.

Sydney had even walked in a fashion show organized by The Chemo Club x Post Swim at Miami Swim Week. She candidly shared images of her surgical scars, declaring, "Scars that remind me of how far I’ve come." Sydney's family vowed to continue her legacy and celebrate her life in every meaningful way possible.
