Hadi claims Bersatu already out of PN

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang asserts that Bersatu has effectively left Perikatan Nasional (PN) following its announcement to form a new political coalition. According to Hadi, the PN constitution stipulates that any party opting to join or form another alliance would automatically forfeit its membership in PN. Speaking after delivering a sermon at Masjid Rusila in Terengganu, Hadi stated that Bersatu's intention to form a new "team" has rendered it automatically ineligible for PN membership.

When inquired about the necessity for an official PN statement confirming Bersatu's departure, Hadi dismissed the need, asserting that the party's own announcement suffices. PAS had terminated its political collaboration with Bersatu last month, yet both entities continue to be component parties of PN despite their deteriorating relations.

Until the Negeri Sembilan election, Bersatu maintained its PN membership, insisting that the coalition’s constitution necessitated consensus from all component parties to expel a member. However, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin later declared that his party would join forces with several parties, including those from Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR) such as Putra and Urimai, to create a stronger coalition ahead of the next general election.
