Car dealer shot dead, wife critically injured in attack at Tuba Beach Drive Estate

On Thursday evening, August 6, a car dealer named Kwesi Rahman, aged 50, was fatally shot and his wife suffered critical injuries in an attack near Tuba Beach Drive Estate in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as the couple returned home from an evening walk. Eyewitnesses reported that an unidentified assailant opened fire on the couple outside their residence.

Mr. Rahman sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while his wife was also shot and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, her condition being critical.

A resident named Faustina Antwi, who heard the gunfire, recounted the events to Adom News. She described hearing gunshots around 9:50 p.m. and rushing to the scene where she witnessed the deceased lying in front of his gate. The body of Mr. Rahman was later conveyed to the police morgue for preservation and autopsy. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation to apprehend the gunman and bring them to justice.

Following the incident, residents of Beach Drive Estate are expressing concerns over the security of the community and have called for intensified police patrols to ensure the safety of residents and their property.
