10 terrorists killed in 2 separate operations in KP: ISPR

On Friday, the military's media wing reported that 10 terrorists, affiliated with the Indian-backed Fitna al Khwarij, were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to ISPR. The first encounter occurred in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan, where a group of terrorists attempted to target security forces' checkposts.

The troops effectively thwarted the attack, engaging the terrorists in a fire exchange that resulted in the deaths of eight Khwarij. In a second operation in Dir district, two more Khwarij were neutralized by the troops. The ISPR added that weapons and ammunition were seized from the deceased terrorists, who were actively engaged in numerous terrorist activities in the region.

Ongoing sanitization operations aimed at eliminating any remaining terrorists in the area were mentioned, with the counterterrorism campaign pledging to continue at full speed to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country. President Asif Ali Zardari expressed gratitude to the security forces for their sacrifices and assured the nation's support in their fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also commended the security forces, emphasizing the commitment to thwarting the designs of elements promoting terrorism with Indian patronage. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, a think tank based in Islamabad, terrorist-related violence escalated significantly in July, marking it as the deadliest month of 2026, claiming the lives of 112 security personnel and 205 civilians.
