Security forces kill 12 terrorists in Balochistan's Mastung, Washuk IBOs: ISPR

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Thursday that security forces had carried out two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Washuk and Mastung districts, resulting in the deaths of 12 terrorists. These operations were part of the 'Radul Fitna' counterterrorism campaign, aimed at combating Fitna-al-Hindustan, an Indian proxy group allegedly responsible for terrorism and instability in Pakistan.

On August 5, six terrorists were engaged and eliminated in the Washuk District, while another six were killed during a subsequent operation in Mastung District. The military's media wing also reported the destruction of a terrorist hideout. The 'Azm-i-Istehkam' strategy, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan.

In a previous incident on August 3, eight Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists were killed in Nushki District following intense engagement, with weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices also recovered. Following a series of attacks last month, including Operation Shaban in retaliation for the Mangi Dam pumping station assault and Operation Al-Azm in response to a shooting at a Karachi-bound coach, security forces have intensified their efforts in Balochistan due to the province's high risk of terrorist activity.

A recent security assessment highlighted a 109% increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan compared to the previous month, with kidnappings also on the rise, indicating the growing influence and reach of terrorist groups in the region.
