U Mobile launches Enterprise Innovation Platform hub

The Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP) hub, initiated by U Mobile, was officially launched in Malaysia to facilitate the development, testing, and demonstration of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and AI-enabled solutions. U Mobile's CEO, Wong Heang Tuck, emphasized that the hub aims to unite enterprises, technology companies, academia, advisers, and public sector stakeholders to mitigate implementation risks, accelerate technology adoption, and deliver significant business outcomes more swiftly.

The EIP hub intends to foster an environment where organizations can confidently explore new technologies, create practical solutions, and scale innovations that yield measurable business results. As digital adoption accelerates across various industries, collaboration among government, industry, academia, and technology partners will be increasingly vital, according to Wong Heang Tuck.

At the EIP hub's launch, 'Luka', an AI-powered humanoid assistant, was highlighted as one of the showcased AI-driven applications. The hub also presented practical enterprise implementations of 5G-A and AI technologies, such as 5G and AI-based visual intelligence for real-time operational monitoring, 5G drone patrolling and data capture for autonomous inspection and surveillance.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil attended the launch, recognizing Malaysia's progress in digital infrastructure and economy. Fahmi emphasized that the EIP hub will bolster innovation and draw investment by creating a collaborative ecosystem that complements the government's initiatives to expedite enterprise digital transformation.

This public-private partnership aims to accelerate the adoption of 5G- and AI-driven applications, enhancing productivity, bolstering competitiveness, and unlocking new sources of economic growth, according to Fahmi.
