U Mobile lancar hab Enterprise Innovation Platform

Malaysia's U Mobile officially launched the Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP) to assist businesses in developing, testing, and showcasing solutions based on 5G-Advanced and artificial intelligence (AI). Wong Heang Tuck, U Mobile's Executive Chairman, explained that the platform would bring together companies, technology providers, academic institutions, consultants, and government agencies to reduce risks associated with new technology, accelerate its adoption, and help businesses achieve faster commercial results.

“We want to provide an environment that enables organizations to explore new technology confidently, create practical solutions, and expand innovations that can generate measurable business outcomes,” Wong said at the launch event. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration among the government, industry, academia, and technology partners as digital technologies become increasingly prevalent in all sectors.

During the launch, U Mobile showcased several technologies that have been utilized by the company to demonstrate practical applications of 5G-A and AI in the corporate sector, including 5G and AI-powered visual analytics for real-time operation monitoring and 5G-connected drones for automatic inspection and surveillance.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil attended the launch, where he emphasized Malaysia's progress in building digital infrastructure and economy. He stated that the EIP will help drive innovation and attract investment, serving as an initiative led by the industry and supported by the government to accelerate the digital transformation in the corporate sector.

He further explained that the ecosystem will accelerate the adoption of 5G and AI-based applications, enhancing productivity, strengthening competitiveness, and opening up new sources of economic growth.
