Senate committee votes to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress

Though Paul has previously submitted individual referrals, he expressed reluctance to waste time moving the matter to a full Senate vote, considering the likelihood of failing to gather the required 60 votes for advancing the matter. Regardless of the outcome, this event prompts complex questions about lawmakers' capacity to compel testimony from pardoned witnesses, and its implications may extend beyond Fauci, potentially impacting President Trump's clemency decisions for his aides before leaving office.
