Pak, China not whole-heartedly our enemies, conflicts can't hit ties: RSS chief

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated on Thursday that India should remain allied with its government and armed forces during conflicts, but this should not permanently terminate relationships with other countries. He used Pakistan and China as examples, noting that existing ties could be paused during conflicts but should not be broken entirely.

At an event in Mumbai, Bhagwat emphasized that during times of conflict, India must follow the directives of its government and military, yet this should not sever the pre-existing relationships. He recalled historical connections, noting that China has a 2,000-year relationship with India, while Pakistan was once a part of India for over a century.

Bhagwat stressed that these ties should not be severed; they can be set aside until the conflict subsides. He advocated for dialogue and harmonious coexistence rather than conquest or destruction. Bhagwat also addressed the grievances expressed by recent student protesters, affirming their legitimacy and cautioning against labeling them as anti-national.

He urged young protesters to recognize their belonging to the country and the importance of dialogue in resolving their concerns.
