Dolby Vision 2 HDR is officially arriving on certain Hisense TVs — here's which models are getting it first, and what it does

Hisense has announced that Dolby Vision 2 HDR is now available for several of their TV models, starting with 2026 models equipped with either Google TV or VIDAA OS. The first batch of affected models includes the UX, UR9, UR8, and U7 in the US, as well as the U7 Pro in Europe and other regions. This upgrade comes as part of a firmware update rolling out soon to customers in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Additional Chinese streaming services, including iQIYI, are also now supporting Dolby Vision 2. The upgrade enhances existing Dolby Vision titles and introduces features specific to the Dolby Vision 2 format, such as Content Intelligence and an intensity slider. Dolby Vision 2 Max leverages the processing power of premium TVs to deliver Authentic Motion and Light Sense 2, which optimizes picture quality based on lighting conditions.

While exact rollout details for other TV brands like TCL and Philips are still in the works, the announcement indicates that the format is set to expand beyond Hisense TVs. The Dolby Vision 2 upgrade is being rolled out as a firmware update, with a full rollout expected to take several weeks. The timing of this announcement comes in the wake of Samsung's announcement of Prime Video supporting its competing HDR10+ Advanced format, potentially suggesting an attempt to outpace Dolby in the HDR market.
