Defender Magazine to preserve Omane Boamah’s legacy of service and integrity – Ato Forson

Acting Defence Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson inaugurated a special commemorative edition of Defender Magazine to honor the late former Defence Minister Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah. The publication celebrates Dr Boamah's tenure, leadership, reforms, and contributions to strengthening the Ghana Armed Forces. During a ceremony marking the unveiling of a cenotaph in Dr Boamah's honor, Dr Forson emphasized the magazine's role as a resource for future leaders, public servants, researchers, and Ghanaians interested in understanding the values that guided Dr Boamah's service.

He underscored the importance of preserving Dr Boamah's legacy of integrity, humility, professionalism, accountability, and selfless service. Dr Forson described the event as a national tribute to a life defined by service, integrity, and patriotism, highlighting Dr Boamah's humility, professionalism, and commitment to national development.

The late Defence Minister's leadership focused on professionalism, discipline, accountability, and reforms aimed at enhancing the operational readiness of the Ghana Armed Forces. Dr Forson also noted Dr Boamah's advocacy for veterans and efforts to foster collaboration between military and civilian institutions for national security.

The Ministry of Defence unveiled the cenotaph, built by FG Global Company Limited, at no cost to the state, as a lasting tribute to Dr Boamah's service.
