Omane Boamah’s integrity and patriotism will inspire generations – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama honored the memory of Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, a distinguished patriot whose steadfast service, unwavering integrity, and profound dedication to Ghana's security and democracy will forever inspire future generations. During the unveiling of a cenotaph at the Ministry of Defence following a National Interfaith Memorial Service, Mahama addressed an assembly of government officials, military personnel, religious leaders, diplomats, family members, and mourners.

The President emphasized that the event celebrated not only Dr Boamah's passing but also his enduring commitment to national service.

Mahama recounted how Dr Boamah served his country with distinction as Minister for Defence, illustrating that while life may end, the values he upheld—such as service, integrity, patriotism, and sacrifice—continue to shape society. He highlighted the cenotaph as more than a mere monument, serving as a permanent reminder of Dr Boamah's ideals that must inspire future leaders.

The President praised Dr Boamah as a humble, diligent, and dedicated leader who approached every responsibility with a deep sense of patriotism. Mahama underscored his unwavering commitment to Ghana's peace, national security, and democratic institutions during his tenure as Minister for Defence.
