Christian Norgaard leaves Arsenal for Everton

Christian Norgaard, a former Brentford captain, has departed Arsenal for Everton. The signing was finalized after a brief stint at Arsenal that lasted only one year. Norgaard's arrival at Arsenal last summer was anticipated to bring substantial Premier League experience and leadership to the midfield. However, this was not the case as Mikel Arteta rarely utilized the 32-year-old during crucial matches.

Instead, he relied on Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, who collectively formed Arsenal's preferred midfield duo. Norgaard's contributions to Arsenal were limited, with him playing just 101 minutes in the entire season, spread over seven substitute appearances. Arsenal paid around £10 million for Norgaard from Brentford, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons.

Given his age, he signed a two-year contract with an option for a third season. Now at Everton, Norgaard expressed his excitement and happiness about joining the club, appreciating the opportunity to play a bigger role and represent a club with a strong fan base.
