Maintain this pace, and we’ll retain power – Asiedu Nketiah confident of NDC re-election

National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the upcoming general election if the government continues on its current track of work. Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, he was satisfied with the achievements made by the government thus far and expressed a desire for improved performance.

Nketiah emphasized that economic stabilization is a crucial key achievement, as it lays the foundation for growth, investment, and job creation. The government has successfully managed economic indicators such as the cedi depreciation, inflation rate, debt-to-GDP ratios, and recurrent expenditure, all of which are pointing in the right direction.

A stable economy creates conditions that enable businesses to access affordable capital, expand operations, and generate employment. Nketiah explained that interest rates are closely tied to inflation, and controlling inflation can lead to lower lending rates that support investment. With businesses making profits, they can expand and create more jobs.

The NDC chairman also highlighted the significance of infrastructure development to create the right environment for growth, citing road construction and other projects as part of their efforts to support economic activity.
