GOP Rep. Max Miller resists pressure to drop reelection bid as party anxiety grows over abuse claims

Ohio Republican lawmaker Max Miller, recently elected to Congress, has steadfastly refused to abandon his reelection bid despite mounting pressure from within his own party. These concerns have been exacerbated by domestic abuse allegations brought forth by his former spouse. Miller maintained his stance, stating to CNN, "I’m not going anywhere."

This unyielding determination comes as his political standing has come under scrutiny, with some senior House Republican strategists worried that his chances of winning in a fiercely contested district have been significantly diminished by the renewed focus on the allegations and his subsequent attempts to clarify his position. Despite these challenges, Miller remains confident, citing strong backing from his district and the ability to raise sufficient funds for a successful campaign.

He has already amassed approximately $2.1 million in campaign funds, far exceeding his opponent's $603,000. Miller's conviction is unwavering, even if influential figures like former President Donald Trump suggested that his prospects might be uncertain.
