NCCE sensitises student leaders on leadership skills

The Western North Regional Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) recently conducted a workshop for student leaders at the Sefwi-Wiawso College of Education, focusing on leadership skills in the digital age. The event, themed "Upholding our Constitutional Democracy in a Digital Age," covered essential topics such as the role of youth as catalysts for good governance and the significance of conflict of interest in decision-making processes.

Mr. Awudu Dramani Sam, the Regional Director of NCCE, highlighted the immense power of the internet and social media, emphasizing that these platforms could either strengthen or undermine democracy. He strongly encouraged the students to utilize these tools responsibly, ensuring that they promote truth, harmony, peace, and unity.

He further advised them to recognize that every interaction on these platforms, such as likes, comments, and shares, can be perceived as votes, influencing the kind of democracy that will be passed on to future generations.

In addition to leadership training, the NCCE team provided a comprehensive overview of constitutional rights and duties, stressing the importance of verifying information before sharing it online. This educational session was deemed impactful and timely by Patrick Kwateng, the Vice Principal of the college, who expressed gratitude to the NCCE and its partners for their support and guidance.
