Mike Lindell Steps Down From MyPillow to Campaign for Governor of Minnesota

Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow, has announced his departure from the company's CEO position to concentrate on his gubernatorial campaign in Minnesota. Lindell, a long-time ally of Donald Trump, made this decision to dedicate his full time and energy to the race. He reduced his ownership in MyPillow to a minority stake but will continue to sit on the company's board.

Lindell's move comes on the heels of the Republican gubernatorial primary, with early voting already underway. He stated in a post on X that he is focused entirely on the campaign and cannot wait to earn the state's votes. James Furlong, a former director of MyPillow, has been appointed as the new CEO. This decision is not about stepping away, but rather stepping forward to serve, according to Lindell.

His campaign has gained momentum, receiving an endorsement from President Trump. However, Lindell faces competition for the Republican nomination, including from Kendall Qualls and Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth. He has also faced scrutiny over allegations of violating state election laws. If Lindell secures the Republican nomination, he is expected to face Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar in the November election.
