Two men seriously injured after Sydney building suddenly collapses

Two individuals remain in serious condition following the collapse of a building near a service station in inner Sydney. Emergency responders were alerted to the incident just before 11am on a Monday at Ultimo. Upon arrival, they found a wall and roof of the structure had fallen onto a number of nearby vehicles. Two men, one in his 60s and the other in his 30s, were extricated from the rubble and transported to nearby hospitals, both in critical condition.

One patient was taken to St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, while the other was airlifted to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Five other individuals were also assessed by paramedics but were not deemed to require hospitalization.

The building in question was identified as a construction site. Surrounding structures, including the service station, were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Fire and Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) confirmed the location as a site of construction activity. Emergency services, including urban search and rescue teams, along with multiple ambulance units, are currently on-site to assess the building for potential further structural instability.

The warehouse, which had previously served as a rehearsal studio, had been approved for demolition with plans to construct a multi-storey mixed-use development. The managing entity for this development, Macroview Projects, has been approached for further information regarding the incident.
