No plane ticket, no turning back: Russian illusionist cycles 12,000 km home from Phuket in 86 days

Russian illusionist Pavel Pavlov recently cycled 12,000 km back to Sevastopol from Phuket, Thailand, in just 86 days. His journey took him through Laos, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Instead of purchasing a plane ticket, Pavlov converted his savings into a used bicycle, a backpack, and a raincoat, embarking on his adventure just three days after concluding his Thai performances.

Throughout the grueling journey, Pavlov faced numerous challenges. He became disoriented in Asian jungles, encountered armed tiger hunters, and suffered from severe dehydration, resulting in temporary loss of consciousness. His bicycle frequently broke down, necessitating repairs with the limited tool he carried - a wrench. Initially, Pavlov's enthusiasm drove him forward, but by the second or third day, the physical and psychological toll of the journey began to manifest, causing him to text friends expressing his mental exhaustion.

Despite the hardships, Pavlov found support from strangers along the way. They shared food, water, and accommodation, making the journey significantly more bearable.
