Arab League chief condemns Israeli attacks on Gaza as an attempt to 'sabotage' ceasefire

The Arab League's secretary general, Nabil Fahmy, has harshly criticized Israeli actions in Gaza, alleging the attacks are designed to undermine the ceasefire agreement. In a statement on Monday, Fahmy stated that the Israeli bombardment of Gaza and continuing assaults in the occupied West Bank are part of a deliberate effort by Israel to derail the roadmap unveiled on Friday aimed at facilitating Israel's withdrawal from the enclave as part of the ceasefire's second phase.

Fahmy underscored the necessity of holding Israel accountable for its transgressions against Palestinians and its blatant attempts to obstruct mediation initiatives, emphasizing that Israel should not be permitted to accomplish its objectives of expanding and augmenting the occupation in Gaza as part of the occupation leaders' explicit agendas.
