Qatar, Egypt, Turkey condemn Israeli military action in Gaza, say it undermines path to peace

Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey jointly condemned Israeli military actions in Gaza, asserting that such attacks contravene international law and hinder the path to peace. The trio of countries, referred to as the "mediating countries," expressed deep concern over the targeting of healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure, resulting in civilian casualties, including women and children. These actions, they argued, undermine the de-escalation process and are threatening the prospects of a sustainable ceasefire.

The statement, published on X/Twitter, highlighted that the international community is expected to assume its responsibilities and apply pressure on Israel to adhere to the agreements reached by President Trump. The US President announced a peace plan for the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza, marking a significant step towards establishing a new Palestinian government.

The agreement, which involved Hamas and other Palestinian factions, was hailed as a critical step towards achieving a lasting peace.

The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) confirmed the killing of Mahmoud Fatair, a commander of the PIJ's Central Gaza Brigade, who was involved in the October 7 attacks and held hostage Rom Braslavski. In the preceding weeks, IDF targeted and eliminated several Hamas, PIJ, and Jaish al-Islam operatives in Gaza City, Jabalya Battalion, and other areas. These strikes, the IDF announced, were part of a series of operations aimed at dismantling terror networks and preventing further loss of life.
