SCR urged to expand Neredmet Railway Station for express train halts

The Train Travellers Association (TTA) has urged the South Central Railway (SCR) to expand Neredmet Railway Station platforms to accommodate 24-coach express trains, benefiting thousands of nearby residents. In a press release, TTA president Noor Ahmed Ali highlighted the upcoming Road Under Bridge (RUB) project, which will soon commence at Neredmet.

Ali suggested utilizing the excavated earth and embankment material from the railway track for extending the platforms towards the Suchitra end, potentially reducing costs and accelerating platform development. He also called for revised train timings to the newly inaugurated Komuravelli Railway Station, proposing a Secunderabad departure time of around 6 a.m. to accommodate devotees visiting the Mallanna Swamy Temple, whose darshan timings range from 4.30 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Currently, the 10.35 a.m. departure train reaches Komuravelli at 12.30 p.m., while the 5.50 p.m. departure arrives at 9 p.m., leaving devotees with limited temple visitation options.
