Citadel School graduates 69 pioneer public leadership students

The Citadel School of Governance in Lagos has graduated 69 students from its inaugural Public Leadership and Statecraft Programme, a nine-month course in partnership with the University of Lagos Business School. The graduates hail from various professions, including the judiciary, academia, public service, business, and local government administration.

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the founder of the Citadel School, encouraged the new graduates to lead ethically and competently, emphasizing public service as a call to serve rather than to dominate or accumulate. He highlighted the need for a new generation of leaders committed to the common good, stating, "You are the first fruit of the Citadel School of Government.

Nigeria is waiting for you." Bakare further appreciated the University of Lagos and other partners for their support, expressing confidence in the success of subsequent cohorts. The Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, encouraged the graduates to prepare for the challenges of public service and contribute to strengthening institutions in Nigeria.

The Executive Director of the University of Lagos Business School, Prof. Sunday Adebisi, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership in addressing Nigeria's leadership deficit, noting that the programme aimed to equip leaders with intellectual depth, strategic foresight, institutional discipline, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to public service.
