The leak was posted by user Fredrick Bryan, who reached 5.9 million X accounts, garnering over 143,000 likes and 10,000 reshares. Some users shared short segments of the movie, revealing major plot points, but the content was soon removed.

Universal Studios expressed their displeasure with the leak, stating they had disabled the unauthorized posting of their film and would pursue legal action. Sony has yet to comment on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day leak. Despite the leak, the movie received a 7/10 rating from IGN and earned $72 million in box office previews, leaving its opening weekend performance uncertain.
