Influencer rejected my paid promo offer for ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ – Funke Akindele

Nollywood filmmaker Funke Akindele recounted a recent experience with an influencer who rejected her offer of paying for promotional content for her upcoming film, Everybody Loves Jenifa. During a panel session at the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend, Akindele discussed her encounters with influencers and the challenges of securing collaborations for her projects.

She recalled sending messages to the influencer, proposing weekly content creation for the film's promotion, but received no response after several tries. The influencer eventually denied the collaboration, citing their management team's reluctance. Despite the rejection, Akindele remained unfazed and encouraged others to stay focused on their goals despite negative comments.
