Commercial Bank recognised with 4 Global Finance awards for trade finance, digital banking

Commercial Bank has been honored with four awards from Global Finance's 'World's Best Digital Bank Awards 2026'. The bank was recognized as 'Best Trade Finance Services' in both corporate banking in Qatar and the Middle East, and as 'Most Innovative Digital Bank' in retail banking within the same regions.

Stephen Moss, CEO of Commercial Bank Group, stated that the bank's success is due to its commitment to leveraging technology for practical value. Moss emphasized that these awards reflect the bank's progress in both corporate and retail banking across Qatar and the broader region, with a continued focus on customer satisfaction.

In the corporate banking sector, Commercial Bank received the 'Best Trade Finance Services' award for its digital tools catering to importers and exporters in the Gulf region. These tools allow clients to track document status, cargo releases, and payment obligations online in real-time. Fahad Badar, EGM and Chief Wholesale and International Banking officer at Commercial Bank, explained that trade finance thrives on speed, accuracy, and trust.

The bank's investment in such tools enables better visibility for clients' transactions and more efficient process management, earning the bank the top spot in Qatar and the Middle East.

For retail banking, Commercial Bank was awarded as 'Most Innovative Digital Bank'. This recognition comes from the bank's focus on delivering a seamless digital experience through its CBQ Mobile App and Internet Banking. Shahnawaz Rashid, EGM and Head of Retail Banking at Commercial Bank, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the bank's vision of making banking effortless.

Rashid mentioned that the bank's dedication to continuous innovation has enhanced convenience, accessibility, and personalization across digital channels.
