Vacancy: freelance writer, Ukrainian culture and history
Ukrainian culture has stories English-speaking readers have never been told. We want writers to tell them. Euromaidan Press,…
Euromaidan Press, an independent English-language outlet covering Ukraine for international readers, is seeking freelance writers based in Ukraine to write feature articles on Ukrainian culture and history. The outlet is looking for writers who can bring to light the stories of Ukrainian culture that English-speaking readers have never been told, such as the contributions of nineteenth-century Ukrainians like Kotliarevsky, the Ruthenian Triad, Kulish, Marko Vovchok, Drahomanov, Kropyvnytskyi, Franko, and Hrushevsky.
They are also interested in articles about the stories behind famous works of art and masterpieces, such as the Black Square, Bilokur's flowers, Earth, and Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors. To apply, interested writers should email one pitch, two writing samples in English, and their CV to euromaidanpress (a) gmail.com with the subject line "Culture writer application."
