#SHOWBIZ: Dolla targets Japan after Paris conquest [WATCH]

Dolla, a Malaysian dance pop trio comprising Sabrina Rusli, Angel Chai, and Tabby Lam, has announced their ambition to conquer Japan after their successful stint in Paris. The trio, who were originally formed in 2019, have a shared passion for Japanese culture, which includes anime, cartoons, fashion, and food. Sabrina, known as Sabronzo, expressed her admiration for Japan's pop culture, stating that the country offers a thriving blend of music, cartoons, fashion, and cuisine.

Angel and Sabrina, who grew up watching anime such as Ultraman, Transformers, and G-Force, shared their fondness for Japan's contributions to popular culture. The trio's bond was forged when they auditioned together for an all-girl pop group, despite not being schoolmates or childhood friends. Their early exposure to singing and dancing helped them overcome shyness and develop confidence.

While they fear missing the target or falling on stage, practice has helped them perfect their craft. The girls have represented Malaysia at major international competitions and visited iconic landmarks in Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. Their dream city, however, remains Tokyo, which they consider the ultimate dream destination due to its thriving pop culture and rich history.

Musically, the trio draws inspiration from a mix of local and international artists, with Angel's favorite being One Direction and Girls Generation, Sabrina's admiration for the Pussycat Dolls and Zee Avi, and Tabby's love for BTS and Ariana Grande. In addition to their pop stardom, the members have surprising background talents, with Angel having played the guzheng, Sabrina being a national tennis player, and Tabby being a dog handler in national-level dog shows.
