Punjab Launches Pakistan’s First Fully Electric Sweeper Truck

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif recently inaugurated Pakistan's first fully electric sweeper truck, aimed at enhancing road cleaning operations and diminishing environmental pollution. The vehicle will be utilized on Lahore Ring Road for cleaning and washing purposes. It boasts a water suction system, a first-of-its-kind in Pakistan, designed to eliminate excess water from road surfaces.

During the inauguration, the chief minister personally inspected the electric sweeper and received an overview of its operational capabilities. It was revealed that the electric vehicle has the capacity to travel up to 70 kilometers on a single charge. The truck operates using zero-emission technology, emitting no harmful pollutants into the air, and it is remarkably quiet, thereby reducing noise pollution.

This electric sweeper is anticipated to control road dust and significantly improve cleaning efficiency. Besides its environmental advantages, the vehicle is projected to drastically reduce fuel and maintenance costs compared to traditional road cleaning trucks. This initiative is a part of Punjab's broader strategy to introduce modern and sustainable road cleaning solutions, making municipal operations more cost-efficient.
