The Jetwing Hotels chain has once again been honored with Presidential Environment Awards, organized by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) under the Ministry of Environment. These awards acknowledge outstanding environmental practices in green management, sustainability reporting, pollution control, waste management, and carbon emissions.

Jetwing St. Andrew’s and Jetwing Vil Uyana emerged as top performers among hundreds of competitors evaluated over 1,000 applications. A panel, including experts from the CEA, academia, and government institutions, conducted rigorous assessments and on-site visits, leading to the recognition of 193 winners. Jetwing St. Andrew’s, situated in Sri Lanka’s hill country, has long prioritized responsible hospitality.

The hotel uses a 60kW solar system, biomass boiler, an effluent treatment plant, reusable glass bottles, and an organic garden. Jetwing Vil Uyana, a Luxury Reserve and Sri Lanka's first man-made wetland resort, supports diverse wildlife and employs solar panels, biogas generation, wastewater treatment, electric vehicle charging, reusable bottles, and an organic garden.

Both properties join other Jetwing Hotels such as Jetwing Kandy Gallery, Jetwing Lagoon Wellness, Jetwing Lake, Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Lighthouse, Jetwing Kaduruketha, and Jetwing Blue, which have also received accolades in the past. Hashan Cooray, Director of Marketing and Development, expressed pride in the recognition, emphasizing the commitment to environmental conservation and responsible hospitality.
