Yaga Episode 4 Recap and Review

Yaga Episode 4, titled "Dance With The Devil," is the most captivating installment of the series to date. The episode opens with Rapp experiencing a vision of Pam in a lab, creating a drug or potion while wearing a white coat and a sinister mask from the previous episode. When Rapp realizes he's back in the police interrogation room, Carson interrogates Pam about her involvement in Logan's death. Pam admits to loving Logan and having an intimate relationship with him, even after he began obsessing over Henry.

Clay Backo delivers an exceptional performance as Carson, balancing sweetness and intimidation in his interrogation of Pam. In one scene, Pam admits to having a threesome with Henry and Logan, which she reveals after tricking Pam into admitting her involvement. Pam and Logan's intimate scenes reveal Henry's obsession with himself, as he watches them and pleasures himself in the corner.

The recurring theme of men behaving creepily and pervertedly is prevalent in this episode. Officer Eckert, played by Patrick Gilmore, constantly makes side comments about his attraction to Pam, who is significantly younger than him. Rapp and Carson visit the motel to interview Angel, who reveals that she makes a drug called Villy, made from chicken blood and human bone, during sabbats. Villy is an "ethical organic dissociative tonic" used to manifest dreams and induce a trip.

Rapp and Carson search Laney's pottery studio for clues, finding jars with the Triskele symbol and a journal containing sketches and recipes in Ukrainian. One of the sketches shows Henry holding a flower crown while holding a chicken, which shocks Rapp. They discover Laney is at the hospital, delirious and potentially holding crucial information about Henry's whereabouts.

As the episode nears its climax, Rapp and Carson find a video uploaded to Henry's social media account, showing a bloody scene from Logan's bedroom and a recording of himself lying naked outside his window. The video ends with the person wearing the mask that has appeared in Rapp's visions. The episode concludes with Rapp and Carson having a crucial piece of evidence regarding Logan's death, and Rapp exclaims, "He wants to dance with the devil."
