President Bola Tinubu joined in the festivities of the All Progressives Congress rally in Akwa Ibom State on Friday, serenading the crowd with his party's popular 'On Your Mandate' campaign song. The event took place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where Tinubu was present to inaugurate projects initiated under Governor Umo Eno's leadership. The rally drew party devotees and political notables, with Governor Eno pledging his support for Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.
Eno emphasized that Akwa Ibom's vote would be in favor of Tinubu only if the federal government delivered on its promise to construct the Ibom Deep Seaport. The governor highlighted the significance of the deep seaport in unlocking the state's and the nation's economy. Tinubu responded affirmatively, assuring the audience, "Okay, It’s approved."
The Ibom Deep Seaport, originally envisioned as the Ibaka Deep Seaport and Industrial City under the previous governor, aims to stimulate maritime activities, generate employment opportunities, and enhance Akwa Ibom's involvement in international trade and commerce.
