Two individuals broke into a home in Torrevieja and held a dog walker captive for around three hours while they ransacked the property, according to a recent conviction by the Alicante Provincial Court. The Eleventh Section of the court, based in Elche, sentenced both to five years in prison for robbery with intimidation in an occupied home and unlawful detention.

Their prior convictions for robbery with violence or intimidation and burglary were considered aggravating factors in the sentencing. The incident occurred on March 8, 2025, as the victim was walking his dog near his residence. The female accomplice initiated a conversation with the man to distract him, after which her male accomplice grabbed his arm and forced him back to the house.

Inside, the attackers instructed the victim to remain seated on a sofa while they searched the property. The male robber used a large kitchen knife to intimidate the victim into giving them his money. The woman searched the rooms, and the pair stole items including a bag, credit cards, jewelry, cash, and a watch. They also consumed food in the living room before departing.

They utilized his mobile phone to call a taxi for their escape, removed its SIM card and landline telephone batteries to impede his ability to seek assistance. Both defendants had previous convictions for similar offenses and entered an agreement admitting the facts and accepting the imposed penalties.
