Police arrest 36 suspects in Niger State

Dubai Police have taken action against 33 illegal nurseries operating in residential buildings and other unsuitable locations, arresting 34 individuals in the process. These nurseries, initially established to provide affordable childcare for low-income families, were found to be in violation of regulations, posing potential risks to the wellbeing of children.

Inspections conducted by Dubai Municipality, the Community Development Authority, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism unveiled several issues, including inadequate hygiene, safety measures, and unsupervised staff. The danger lies in these nurseries operating outside childcare regulations, in locations poorly equipped to accommodate children, with insufficient hygiene levels and no safety standards.

Police investigations led to the identification of multiple illegal nurseries across the emirate, which were subsequently placed under surveillance before a series of arrests ensued. The crackdown is part of broader efforts to protect children and combat practices that jeopardize their safety. Authorities stress the importance of adhering to laws governing nursery operations and discouraging placing young individuals in non-designated or inadequately equipped childcare settings.

Parents are advised to verify if nurseries hold valid licenses before enrolling their children and are cautioned against making childcare decisions solely based on low fees or advertisements. The public is urged to report suspected illegal childcare operations by contacting 901, utilizing the Dubai Police website, or leveraging the Dubai Police smart app.
