NADRA has outlined a straightforward process for Pakistani citizens to convert their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) or Smart CNIC into a National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). To begin the conversion, applicants must visit a nearby NADRA Registration Centre with their existing identity card and relevant travel or overseas residence documents.
The processing can be categorized as Normal, Urgent, or Executive, with processing times ranging from 9 to 31 days. The required documents include a Pakistani or foreign passport, residence permit, work permit, or other relevant travel documents. The six-step procedure involves obtaining a token, completing biometric verification, providing personal information, obtaining application approval, paying the NICOP fee, and finally, collecting the NICOP from the same registration centre after the designated processing time.
