La Liga: I wish Atletico vs Barcelona could end in double defeat — Mourinho

Real Madrid coach José Mourinho has expressed his desire for Atlético Madrid to face a double defeat against Barcelona in their upcoming La Liga match. Speaking ahead of the crucial game at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Sunday, Mourinho stated, "I’d like both of them to lose." However, he acknowledged that this outcome is unlikely as points will inevitably be dropped, which would still be beneficial for Madrid's title challenge.

Barcelona currently leads the table with 30 points, two ahead of Atlético (28 points), and three points ahead of Real Madrid (27 points). A victory for either side would strengthen their title aspirations, while a draw would result in both teams losing points, aiding Madrid's cause. The match pits Diego Simeone's Atletico against Hansi Flick's Barcelona, both teams in strong form.

Mourinho also addressed Cristiano Ronaldo's retirement from the Portugal national team, stating that he respects the player's decision, who has not retired from club football. He hopes Ronaldo will eventually retire from playing altogether on a different day.
