Renowned chef and business mogul Paik Jong-won temporarily abandoned his restaurant management duties to become a delivery rider, personally transporting pizzas to customers for a fresh new pizza from his Paikboy Pizza chain. On Thursday, he posted a video to his YouTube channel, "Paik Jong-won," showcasing a day spent working at a franchise location in South Chungcheong Province as part of his "My Business, My Way 2" series.
The visit was motivated by the franchise owner's habit of personally delivering many app-ordered pizzas, guaranteeing customers receive pizzas that remain piping hot. Paik opted to ride a motorcycle during his delivery, catching customers off guard by bringing an extra pizza he had paid for and showcasing how to finish the new menu item with cheese and crushed red pepper.
Upon arrival, several customers were taken aback by the unexpected delivery, with some capturing commemorative photos alongside the restaurant entrepreneur. Paik also fulfilled a promise he had made to firefighters he encountered during his journey, informing them he would bring pizzas during their lunch break.
