CDA Completes Over 60% of Development Work in Islamabad Sector

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made significant strides in developing Sector E-12 of Islamabad, completing over 60% of the work so far. This development comes after the recovery of 1,135 kanals of government land, which had been held by encroachments for four decades. CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf outlined these developments in a press release on November 6, 2026.

In Sector E-12/4, earthwork has been fully completed, while the base, sub-base, and drainage system construction is underway. Similarly, earthwork on key service roads such as Khayaban-e-Iqbal, South Service Road, and East Service Road has been completed. In Sector E-12/3, the Topsoil Treatment (TST) work has been finished in 15 streets, with earthwork and base construction ongoing in the remaining streets.

Likewise, TST work has been completed in 25 streets of sectors E-12/2 and E-12/1, with similar progress in the rest of the sectors.

CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf emphasized that the authority is removing all obstacles to the development of Sector E-12 in accordance with the law. He highlighted the recovery of 1,135 kanals of government land worth billions of rupees after 40 years, asserting that encroachments on this land would not be tolerated. The chairman stressed that development work in Sector E-12 and other sectors remains a top priority for the CDA, with all available resources being utilized to expedite these projects.

Ashraf added that the improved residential facilities resulting from this development would help address Islamabad’s growing housing needs.
