UAE marks three years of Operation Gallant Knight 3 delivering aid to Gaza

The United Arab Emirates commemorated the three-year anniversary of Operation Gallant Knight 3, its most extensive humanitarian mission to Gaza. This operation, which began on November 5, 2023, under the direction of President Sheikh Mohamed, has evolved from an emergency relief initiative into a comprehensive aid system addressing various needs in the Gaza Strip. The UAE's involvement accounts for approximately 46% of all international humanitarian assistance reaching the territory.

To deliver aid, the operation has utilized 792 aircraft, 26 ships, and 14,711 lorries, both by land, air, and sea. Additionally, the Birds of Goodness initiative has conducted 81 airdrop missions to ensure assistance reaches communities with challenging ground access. In terms of healthcare, over 294,000 individuals have received medical treatment under the operation. Equipped health centers, field hospitals, and medical convoys, supported by the World Health Organisation, have been deployed to provide medical care.

Food security has been improved through 40 community kitchens producing approximately eight million meals annually, along with support for around 27 bakeries capable of generating up to 1.5 million bread bundles each year. The operation maintains seasonal initiatives, such as the Winter Clothing campaign, which aims to provide clothing, blankets, and heating supplies to one million beneficiaries in Gaza.

Aid convoys are prepared at the UAE's humanitarian logistics center in Al Arish, Egypt, where shipments are received, sorted, and forwarded to Gaza. Operation Gallant Knight 3 is coordinated through the UAE humanitarian aid logistics center in Al Arish, reflecting the UAE's commitment to humanitarian solidarity and long-term support for the Palestinian people.
