Rourke, B.C. Lions focused ahead of West final

Nathan Rourke, quarterback for the B.C. Lions, and his team will face the Elks in the CFL’s West Division final for the fourth time in five years on Saturday. The Lions, with a record of 10-8, aim to achieve a different result this season, while Rourke remains focused on the task at hand. The Lions have faced defeat in the past two West finals, losing to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2024 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2023.

Despite these setbacks, Rourke acknowledges the value of learning from past experiences but emphasizes the importance of approaching each moment with fresh eyes. The Lions' recent momentum, highlighted by overcoming a 14-point deficit to defeat the Riders 33-26, has bolstered their confidence heading into the final. Rourke's exceptional performance, including 21 of his 32 pass attempts for 366 yards with three touchdowns, showcases his ability to deliver under pressure.

Coach Buck Pierce praises Rourke for his versatility and leadership, noting that the quarterback can adapt to any situation the team requires. With Rourke’s experience and the team’s unselfishness and unity, the Lions are determined to change their fortunes and secure a Grey Cup victory.
