Democrat Cait Conley wins election to U.S. House in New York’s 17th Congressional District
Cait Conley, a Democrat, secured her victory on Thursday in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing New York's 17th Congressional District. She emerged victorious over her Republican counterpart, Mike Lawler. The Hudson Valley district, which had previously supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, elected Conley to the House.
Conley, a graduate of West Point and an Army veteran, expressed dissatisfaction with Lawler's proximity to President Donald Trump. The Associated Press officially declared Conley the winner at 6:12 p.m. EST.
