Rina, accordo da 11 milioni con Petrobras sulle strutture sottomarine

Specialized inspection and engineering consultancy firm Rina has signed a three-year, €11 million contract with Petrobras for activities related to evaluating the integrity and decommissioning of the Brazilian company's underwater infrastructure. The project involves engineering analyses and technical assessments aimed at supporting Petrobras' asset management throughout their operational life, as well as planning interventions to ensure the reliability of offshore structures.

The scope of work includes evaluating the integrity, reliability, and availability of underwater structures linking offshore and surface facilities, supporting various operational scenarios during the installations' service phases. Key activities include assessing the structural integrity of underwater pipelines and connectors to platforms, reliability studies, useful life evaluations, and decommissioning studies for underwater structures reaching the end of their operational cycle.

Marcell Chiarelli, executive commercial management director for Latin America at Rina, notes that projects related to subsea system integrity and decommissioning require solid technical analysis capabilities and deep offshore engineering expertise. Under this collaboration with Petrobras, Rina's role is to provide specialized evaluations to support informed managerial decisions throughout the asset's lifecycle.

The project will involve more than 80 people, including specialized engineers and technicians, of which over 45 are already working. The team will be progressively expanded based on the evolving activities.
