MultiChoice Ghana introduces four new DStv packages, cuts subscription prices

MultiChoice Ghana has launched four new DStv packages with reduced subscription prices, aiming to make its content more accessible to Ghanaian households. The four new packages - Starter, Select, Sports, and Ultimate - will replace the existing six packages: Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus, Premium, and Party, starting November 5, 2026.

MultiChoice Ghana's CEO, Alex Okyere, revealed that the new packages were introduced following customer feedback about subscription costs despite high-quality content. The Starter package will cost GH¢50 (previously GH¢98), the Select package will be GH¢100 (previously GH¢188), the Sports package will cost GH¢250 (previously GH¢854), and the Ultimate package will be GH¢570 (previously GH¢854).

The new Sports package will provide subscribers with access to all football content on DStv, including UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A. MultiChoice has also made changes to movie channels, merging M-Net Movies One and Two into M-Net Movies Plus, and creating M-Net Movies Stars and M-Net Movies Legends.

Additionally, MultiChoice has reduced decoder and dish prices, with a decoder and dish combination now costing GH¢99, and existing dish owners able to purchase the decoder for GH¢49. The company aims to reach more Ghanaian households by establishing a distribution network of 12 major dealers and 1,500 points of sale, along with 350 direct sales representatives.
